What do you think of when you think of the 50’s? The Cold War or the Korean War? Frank Sinatra or Elvis ‘The Pelvis’ Presley? The 1950’s were a time of change. The world was recovering after the Second World War, and then thrown into several more wars and conflicts. It was a time of suspicion as democracy and communism continued to clash, particularly in the northern hemisphere, and many were suspected of ties to the ‘enemy’. Is your kindly neighbour working for the ‘commies’? Could they be a spy? It is difficult to say, but keep your own nose clean!
